about

A SOMBER POEM

lyrics

It comes and it goes
The pride and the sorrows
The stink of the smoke clings so close to your fingers
I've forgotten your name, you've drifted away
Familiar faces don't look the same
A melody plays me out as the walls become black
My summer years pass by without the comfort of a hand
I've heard your voice in the ruins of my youth
Lost time is made up by passing interests
The familiar be made silent by the absence of daughter
It comes and it goes
It comes and it goes
